Been dealing with sick children all week. Strep throat. I am thankful that we were able to get in to the doctor when we needed to, and get the medicines to heal their little bodies!

I am thankful for all the blessings in my life. I forgot to post the other days, and will do better now that my children are on the mend :-)

Today, I am thankful for modern medicine. I picked up Andrew early from school because he had a fever and sore throat. He is sick (poor little guy). His body was achy, he had chills, sore throat, and headache. Ibuprofen to the rescue! Within an hour he was more comfortable, and was able to nap, and get the rest he needed.

I am thankful everyday for medicines that help heal our bodies, and provide comfort when we need it!

Today, I am grateful for rain. Why, you might ask? Well, purely selfishly, it is raining here in Anaheim, and the parks are less crowded! We have been able to go on so many rides more quickly because the parks are "empty-ish".

I am also thankful for rain, because it helps things to grow, especially foods that we all eat. It renews the earth, and keeps the circle of life going!

I also love the rain, because of the sound it makes on my home, car, etc. The smell the rain leaves is wonderful. And, the coolness that comes with the rain is refreshing. There is also nothing better than curling up in a blanket, with a good book, with the dark clouds, and rain outside. It is so comforting!

I LOVE RAIN!

I am thankful for my childrens' friends. What a blessing they are to them! Andrew talks about his school buddies constantly, and even Sam has started talking about his pre-school friends. I hope to spend more time with them as they grow, and I want their friends to feel comfortable in our home.

We got to spend time with a little boy named Caleb, this weekend at Disneyland. The boys got a long swimmingly, and we will be seeing more of Caleb, and his family!

I love my kids good friends - new and old!

I am grateful for good friends! My friends Heidi and Danny invited my family to stay with them at the Grand Californian in Anaheim. Of course, we said yes, and enjoyed our time immensely!

Heidi and I met while doing musical theater. She kept me employed :-) and we became great friends! I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. We have spent time together, and shared happy times, and sad. She spoils my children. I learn from her all the time! I love her so much! With Heidi, came Danny, who is such a wonderful man, and friend!

Good friends are hard to come by, and I have found many whom I love dearly! Thank you to these two, especially!

I am thankful for stores that are close to my home. There are so many conveniences to being able to get things at the last minute, or exactly when I need them. This is truly a blessing!

Today is purely selfish...I am grateful for seat heater's in my Tahoe. It is a balmy 39-44' today. Mighty cold walking out to get in the car. I cleaned off the windows, turned on the car and windshield wipers, then the heater, and finally my seat warmer :-) So grateful for the technology that lets us use these conveniences.

I am thankful for my vehicles. Where would we be without reliable cars? We are always able to have what we need, thanks to a friend who knows dealer auctions. Thanks, Joe! There is room for our children, and all of our things. And, we can rely on our transportation! I was also able to transport the dog comfortably today, because I have the Tahoe. She gets to sit in back, and look out the windows. This keeps us all safe, because she loves being near us, and she can be very distracting. I am very grateful for transportation!

It is the first Sunday of November, and today I am grateful for fasting. It is a blessing in my life, and I recognize that. Studying the scriptures, and praying, help me to feel of the Spirit, and help me to feel of God's love, and know that He is there, and listens to me, and loves me.

This is a wonderful article about the law of the fast, and the blessings that come to us when we fast.

Today it's about modern technology! I am very grateful for the advances in technology over the last 20 years. AMAZING, is the word. Just this morning, I have been able to look up articles online for my YW lesson, for my sacrament meeting talk on gratitude (Thanksgiving weekend), and talk with friends far-away via Facebook. What a blessing in my life! I know that my Father in Heaven has had a hand in this, that He uses these things for our benefit, and that we should use them for our benefit as well!

I am very grateful for my home. I know that we will be moving in a month, but I am very thankful that we have had a warm, safe, secure, happy place to live for the past 10 years. It is the first place Adam and I could truly call our own. It is the place my children came home to after they were born. It is the place where music has been made. It is the place where tears, and love, have been shared. It will always be our 1st home, and it will always have a special place in our hearts!

Today (yesterday, as I write this), I am thankful for prayer. Prayer works - purely and simply. When I need extra help, I pray. When I am feeling down, I pray. When I want my Father in Heaven to know how grateful I am to Him, for all of my blessings, I pray.

Last night, Adam was not feeling very well and had to leave the church activity we were attending. When we arrived home from the activity, Sam went to his dad's bedside and prayed that "Daddy would feel better". There was no prompting from us, he just sat down next to him and started praying. There is really nothing sweeter, and the faith of my son, really touched my heart.

I am truly grateful for prayer, and all of the blessings that I receive from direct communication with my Father in Heaven.

I am grateful for Jesus Christ. I know that He died for me - for all of my sins, and heartaches, and physical pain. He is my personal Savior! I know that if I follow and live by His perfect example, I will return to live with Him, and my Heavenly Father again someday. This brings peace to my life. For that, I am thankful!

(This is an Easter message, but it is a great reminder today, and every day.)

My cousin, Hayley, is doing a Gratitude-a-Day for November. I thought I would jump on that bandwagon!

I am thankful for my family! All of them! I love my husband, and sons, my parents, my siblings, my aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws! I have the best family! I love spending time with them. I love talking with them. I cannot wait until we move in to our new home, where I can invite them over, and will have the space to entertain them. I am very blessed, that some of them live so close. And, I miss those that live far. I can't wait for the day when I can see them all again!

What a character this little man is! He wanted to play outside. It is very cold, and wet, but I could not resist that adorable little face.

On a side note, my Aunt Sylvia, and her husband Clint, are finally getting to adopt. Two little girls will be coming in to their home. I am so happy and excited that this is finally happening for them. Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers!

Disneyland 2009

View from our room in the Villas at the Grand California. Heidi & Danny, our wonderful friends, were very generous, and invited us to stay with them.

We drove all night Wednesday, and Adam was very sleepy when we arrived. He decided to take a nap, and later meet us for lunch. The rest of us (who had slept on our drive down), started out at California Adventure. Bugs Land was our first stop. It's a great place for little kids, and it is never very crowded. Sammy got to go on the bumper bugs because he was tall enough. When we tried to go back, we found out he was too short, and that the height thing had been broken. Sam was very upset that he didn't get to go again. The kids enjoyed playing with Heidi & Danny & Mom.

Thursday we spent the morning in Toon Town. Sam, the bravest of my two children, wanted to meet Mickey Mouse. He doesn't seem thrilled. But, he is!

Friday the kids had a blast. Meeting up with Scott & Shelly's family was fun! The kids spent a lot of time in "Bug Land", and they rode the lady bug cups 50 million times. I have never laughed as hard as I did when I rode it with them. Oh my goodness, what high-pitched screams they have!

I have a 23.5 pound, 22 month old. He currently sits in the 4th percentile for weight. He is incredibly active, but doesn't eat much at all. Even when we have given him a cookie, or ice cream, he will only eat a little bit and be done. So, we try and fill him with healthy foods whenever we can, and hope he stays healthy!

The other night we had chili, hot dogs, Fritos, and grapes. He thought that was great, and kept asking, "Mo pease!" (He loved the chili.) Since then, he has been eating more. I think he may be in a growth spurt, which is what I have been hoping for!

Children from the same family have so many similarities, but they can also be so very different. Andrew loves food! Sam would rather be doing something else. Hopefully, though, his interest has been perked, and he might "beef up" a little bit ;o)

Just a quick update...

I love my boys so much! They are a joy to me, but sometimes they can be quite a challenge. We had our first "real" issue with Andrew today. He scratched a little girl in his preschool class. They were having a disagreement, she scratched him, and he scratched her ~ we're not sure which one did it first, but it happened. So, there needed to be a consequence for his actions. He had to take a nap after lunch today, he wrote the girl a note of apology, and he will not be able to go to his play date tomorrow. Daddy also had a talk with him, about appropriate behavior, by not scratching and hitting girls (and other children, for that matter). Andrew is very disappointed, but I think he understood that what he did was wrong. He didn't even cry for very long when we told him he wouldn't be going to his friend's house, because he knew. Being a parent is tough! But, we've been very lucky! We sure do love our kids!

We went in to San Francisco today, via the Ferry. The children had a great time on the boat, and really enjoyed Pier 39. They loved the sea lions, and our picnic lunch. Sam especially enjoyed the street performers!

We concluded our trip with Hot Peppermint Cocoa from Peet's, with chocolate covered gingerbread men. Yummy! I am so glad we got to spend the day together! I love my family!

We went to the Smith Family Farm today. We had a great time, and got some awesome pumpkins!

This is the best picture I got of Sammy. He was all over the place, and would not stop running. He is such a joy!

At least Andrew sat still for a few seconds. The pics a little dark, but I think he is so cute! I love my boys!

We had a baby shower for my sister-in-law Jenna today. Aunt Vicki and I threw the shower at my parents house. We had a breakfast casserole (which was very yummy), fruit, an assortment of chocolates, and a very delicious strawberry, whipped cream cake. I'll have to get Michelle to send pictures of the decor so I can post them. (The photographer forgot her camera. I wish I hadn't, because everything was so nice.)

I love showers! Jenna had a great "invite" list, and I was able to visit with people I don't get to speak to regularly. At church we are always on the go, and it was wonderful to be able to slow down and actually talk.

I wish my sisters, and Jenna's family could have been there. I miss my family, and wish that they didn't live so far away. I do get to see my parents, and brother regularly, but it would be nice to have my sisters closer. Maybe someday...

We went to Disneyland June 7th through the 11th. It was a wonderful trip. We drove down with some good friends, in their Suburban, trying to avoid some of the cost of fuel. We stayed at the Cortona Inn, and got to ride ART for the first time. It was nice to stay a little further away from the park. It was more relaxing, and we were able to see a little more of Anaheim, and have access to a close grocery store.

The kids did well. We were still able to ride some of the "big kid" rides. We were able to see our niece Kaite, and spend a fun afternoon/evening with her. We saw one of my old students from PHS (who is now the new Casey for the Playhouse Disney attraction at California Adventure). We just enjoyed being together.

I am glad that we have been able to spend so much time with our children this year. We still have one more year with Andrew out of school, and we will be taking advantage of it. I love my family!
